HISTORY OF THE ROCKGROUT PROGRAMMES

The ROCKGROUT groups of grouting programmes have been changed a number of times in the moe than 16 years I have been writing them and making them available for distribution. Most changes have been minor, but a few are substantial, such as those in this present (10th) version.

The first few versions were distributed on floppies at the Short Course in Grouting conducted by the University of Missouri-Rolla, USA. Several hundred copies were distributed at these Courses. In addition many copies were posted, on request, to interested people in other countries - Australia in particular.The programmes were written in Turbo Pascal language; the Internet was not then available for this type of site.

Subsequently, when the Web became available, I reprogrammed everything in HTML and JavaScript and placed them on this site, which I maintain for the purpose.

The following lists the dates of the versions.

• 1.0 issued August 1993
• 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 issued early 1994 to July 1994
• 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, 3,2 issued 1995
• 4.0 issued 1997
• 5.0 issued April 1998
• 6.0 issued August 1998 (final floppy version)
• 7.0 placed on Web June 1999.
• 8.0 DVD version of the book plus these present programmes. Not distributed because of copyright considerations.
• 9.0 placed on Web May 2008 (ISP = TPG)
• 10.0 placed on Web mid 2009 (ISP = TPG)
•      in HTML and then XHTML

I am unsure that I'll ever reach Version 11. Deteriorating eyesight and 'advanced maturity' (i.e. old age 81) mean that I might not be able to keep going with more. So take your chance now and download anything you want before this site disappears!
